Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog😊.
So today, I will be reviewing ‘It ends with us by colleen hoover’.
According to Colleen Hoover, this book is different, it is not entertainment, it is the most grueling thing she have ever written.
It ends with us is about domestic violence. In the first chapter of this book, she establishes that there is no such thing as bad people, we are just people who do bad things. We have got a little bit of good and bad in us.
As the story progressed, she went to explain that domestic violence isn’t something we overlook. When it comes to violence, no matter how hard the individual tries to hide it, the signs will always be clear. It’s your duty to notice the signs and act on them.
Love and violence isn’t something that can replace each other. She warned us not to overlook violence in the name of love. Love cannot mask violence.
Colleen’s words;
Sometimes the thing that matters the most to you are also the things that hurt you the most, and in order to get over that hurt, you have to sever all the extension that kept you tethered to that pain.
After reading this book the second time, I realized that as humans, the way we judge situations differ. We tend to see the wrong in the lives of others but then we ignore the wrongs in our own lives.
There are times when we actually see the wrong in our lives, but then we make excuses for them, we are scared of making it right. We believe cycles exist because they are excruciating to break, but we do not realize that it takes an astronomical amount of pain and courage to disrupt a familiar pattern, and sometimes, the courage is needed in order to protect yourself and the next person from further damages.
On a scale of 1-10, I will rate this book 8. It’s a good one and I totally recommend it.
Warning: This book will break your heart.
