Hi everyone, welcome back. Today I will be reviewing a book titled The girl on the train by Paula Hawkins.

The girl on the train is an intriguing psychological thriller with a suspense that keeps you at the tip of your toes. Rachael Watson is an alcoholic divorcee who commute on the same train to work everyday.  The train stops at the same signal each time overlooking a house. Rachael feels she knows the occupants of this house. She gives them a fictional name, job and assume they live the perfect life, a life she would never have again.

An unexpected event happens giving Rachael a chance to become a part of this life she has always watched from afar and she realizes that things are not as they appear to be.

The story is a first person narrative from the point of view of three women; Rachael Watson, Anna Watson and Megan Hipwell. It is written in short direct sentences that are easy to comprehend. It is extremely plot driven, the events are intriguing which makes it almost impossible to put the book down.
Every character is extremely flawed. There is no black or white, just all shades of grey.

Themes of the book
- Domestic violence
- Motherhood
- Betrayal
- Alcoholic ( Blackouts and memory loss)
- Deception and lies
- Guilt and blame.

I rated this book five out of five stars. i loved every bit of the novel, if you enjoy psychological thrillers like Gone girl by Gillian Flynn, then you will love this book.
