Hello everyone,
Have you ever finished reading a book and thought, WTF did I just read, well Verity is that book.
Verity is a psychological thriller that blurs the lines between fiction and reality creating an illusion that seems real but at the same time, remains an illusion.
Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer who is hired by Jeremy Crawford and Pantem press to complete a book series written by his wife Verity Crawford who happens to be a successful writer. Verity was involved in an accident that led to a brain damage leaving her unable to perform any task including writing.
Lowen arrives at the Crawford home to sort through Verity’s office so she can understand the book series better and be in the right frame of mind to write the remaining books. However, she stumbles upon an autobiography written by Verity that reveals unexpected events about the Crawford’s family.
Verity is a dark and twisted novel, the characters are deeply flawed, every single one of them. There is no protagonist or antagonist, everyone is a victim and at the same time, no one is a victim. There are a lot of things going on in the story and as a reader, it really comes down to your perception of what you believe is right and wrong.
The genres in this book include;
- Mystery
- Suspense
- A bit of horror
- Romance ( there is a lot of sex in this book).
It is written in the first person narrative from Lowen’s point of view.
I gave it a 5 out of 5 stars because reading it was a wild ride. I could not put the book down. This is the second time I am reading it and both times, I read it within 24 hours. If you are looking for an intense and compelling novel, then you should definitely read this one. It will leave you perplexed.
If you have read verity, let me know what you think.
