My sister, the serial killer is a crime thriller set in Lagos Nigeria. It is basically about the lives of two sisters, the youngest one being the serial killer and the oldest one having to clean up after her sisters mess.

Personally, I was attracted to this book because of the book cover and the fact that prior this, I had not read any crime thriller novel set in Nigeria so I was really excited.

This book is an okay book but then I expected more from the author. There are lots of loopholes. I felt the reasons for the murders were not justified.

The writing style is basic, it is written in first person narrative. I eventually figured out that the author was trying to establish the length a person can go because of a family member or family in general. One thing I really liked about this book is the Nigerian concept. I am a Nigerian, currently living in Lagos so I can relate to the points mentioned;

Men abusing their wives,

Men cheating on their wives,

Crime cases being dismissed because of the carefree attitude of the officers and finally

Officers feeling entitled to bribes.

The suspense is really good. I love the fact that a chapter could comprise of three sentences and those sentences will be so heavy that you will be forced to read the next chapter to find more meaning to those sentences.

Finally, it was an easy read and I gave it three stars because i felt it could have been better if the author had paid close attention to tiny details like why and how. So if you are looking for something exciting yet easy to understand, then you should definitely read this book.
